BOOK REVIEW: Emotional lntelligence

On June 28, 2018July 5, 2018 By KC HarrisIn Book ReviewsLeave a comment

My expectations for Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman were pretty high: I’d been told that this was the book that started a movement, and had heard good things from the people I knew who’d read it. One friend had even referred to it as a “Gold Mine” of information that would change how I looked …

REVIEW: THE 4 HOUR WORKWEEK

On June 8, 2018July 5, 2018 By KC HarrisIn Book Reviews, LifeLeave a comment

What the Book is About When I first heard about The 4 Hour Workweek, I thought the book would be about being so productive that you only needed 4 hours in a week to do what took everyone else 40 hours. I wasn’t entirely right, but I wasn’t entirely wrong either… The book was also …

Trying out my take on the Casey neistat intro style with my video today... but for real though, sleeping in has been trashing my routines in this last week. ⁣ ⁣ I feel like going to bed on time is so much easier said than done... watch me figure it out though. I have to. ⁣ ⁣ I’ll be sure to post updates as I figure it out. But until then... link in bio.
And NOW I’m getting hella nitpicky about it... too much yellow in the last one, but wasn’t willing to kill the post. ⁣ ⁣ Here’s the one.
Fixed the bike, brought the SD card, came when it was sunny.... Today was WAY better.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Also starting to explore using lightroom and photoshop to hella increase the quality of my photos. Feels wierd, but is also kind of exciting to see what I’ve been missing. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ NOT TO MENTION that I’ve never felt comfortable in front of a camera like this, and now I’m doing it. I’m not amazing at it obviously, but I’m doing it by my own choice, and getting better at it. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ It feels cool. Let’s go baby.
Was gonna try and take some pictures today, only to see that 1) my bike tire blew out while I was biking down 2)id forgotten my memory card while I was editing at home and 3) it started raining mid shoot. Oof. ⁣ ⁣ Tomorrow then.
Had one of those creative flows on Tuesday night where everything kind of disappears and the thoughts come super quick and you don’t really look up until the next thing you know it’s 2AM... I love that editing does that for me. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Anyways. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Part of what my boss does is that she teaches continuing education courses at Stanford a couple of times a semester... and this time around we decided to make a highlight reel so that people who haven’t been can see what she’s talking about. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This is the reel I made, and beyond promoting her I’m also just pretty happy with the final product :) enjoy
It’s mf Valentine’s Day and I have some great people in my life!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Last year’s v-day was the first time I’d been single in a minute, and for the first time I was hella confused about what I was supposed to be doing besides trying to come up with cute gifts for my gf or setting up nice dates or whatever. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ And I decided that instead of that, I would make MY Valentine’s Day about the people in my life that matter to me. That meant my closes friends, family, and general good people that make this life worthwhile, you know? I tried to go and give everyone those cheap little valentines from elementary school and thank them for being in my life. It was great. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ And I’m doing it again this year. I haven’t gotten the chance to call/talk to/give valentines to everybody, but I figure if I can’t pull that off, this post is a great start. So here we go: ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Micheal, Tommy, I love you. You are my people. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Little man, you probably won’t see this until you’re older, but I want you to know that our relationship has been so good and meant so much to me as you’ve started getting bigger. I love you to the end of the world and back and I’ll always be proud to be your bigger brother. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Avis, I really appreciate the effort we’ve been putting into each other, despite the distance. This is a great thing we have here, and I can’t see myself ever letting go of it. Thank you so much for being here. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ JB.. are you tucked though? But really man - thank you. I’ve never really had something like what we have in a friendship, and I’m so happy to have it. Love you dude, we’re in this together. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Josh, f*ck you. I love exactly what we are and even though we don’t take pictures, I don’t think we need to. Getting to see you is one of the highlights of each break, and the drives in between have been hella good too. You’re a great friend, and I’m glad to have you here.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Mom, thank you for buying me a new phone when my old one broke. I’m sorry for putting it in a puddle. I know you don’t like
